Full Figured Fashion Week

Oh my my my am I excited to share this with all of you! I stumbled across this webpage promoting the 2011 Full Figured Fashion Week sponsored by Sonsi, Lane Bryant and KMart. I had no idea that something this WONDERFUL existed!

As a plus sized chick who loves fashion, it really excites me that designers are coming together in one of the fashion capitals of the world to promote their looks. Sexy knows no size and I can't wait to see what the designers put on the runway!

I'm totally bummed that I won't be able to get into the city for the main events (we are booked with weddings that weekend) but now knowing about this, I'll certainly keep it on my radar for the future.

Stylish Blogger Award

I was flattered to see that Rebecca of Southern Charm nominated little old me for the Stylish Blogger Award! I wondered if I should conjure up an acceptance speech... or should I just gracefully accept the award and move on (knowing full well that inside I wanted to proclaim "I'd like to thank the academy...")?

Fortunately for myself (and for my readers ;)) I didn't have to decide. There are a small set of rules that come along with this award...
1. Link back and thank the person who gave it to you.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 5 stylish blogs you read.
4. Contact them and tell them about their award!

Sounds easy enough! I've linked back to Rebecca (check out her blog right now - it's adorable and fabulous all in one!) and plan to nominate 5 of my favorite blogs. All that's left are the 7 facts about myself. Here we go...

{one}
I'm fairly obsessed with Disney World. At first it may sound juvenile but it's far more than the rides and the giant rodent mascot. It's all about the FOOD. I'm such a foodie and there's no better place to flex my foodie muscles than Disney. When Mr. TL and I went for our honeymoon way back in 2009, I fell in love with the different types of fine dining experiences they had available and vowed to go back enough to try every high end restaurant they offered just once. We're headed back in just over 4 weeks and I cannot wait to ride Rock N Rollercoaster and eat lots of incredible food.

(Myself and Mr. TL in Epcot in October 2010 for the International Food and Wine Festival)

{two}
I have a shopping addiction when it comes to handbags. Particularly Vera Bradley, Coach, and Longchamp. I have 4 giant rubbermaid containers in my basement that are full to the brim with handbag and small accessories (because you can't have a great bag without a great wallet, cosmetic case, checkbook cover...)

{three}
There's something about a hand written note that makes me warm and fuzzy. I love sending and receiving hand written communication and wish our society valued it more. I love shopping for cute note cards that I can use as thank yous or just because sort of cards.

{four}
On my first date with Mr. TL, I wasn't "sold" and in fact, probably didn't plan on accepting his second date invitation. What changed? Well... My car actually wouldn't start when I went to leave at the end of the night and he insisted on staying with me until AAA came. Once they did and Bessie (my sexy 1996 Ford Escort - be jealous!) was running, he asked if he could follow behind me in his car until we reached my street (we both lived in the same city) so that he could make sure it didn't break down again. Ahh chivalry. Allowing relationships to bloom since the dawn of time. :)

(Mr. TL & I during the first few months of dating at a Patriots game)

{five}
I love all things girly. Makeup, nail polish, glitter, the color pink, jewelry. You name it, I covet it. Mr. TL always jokes that we'll never have any little girls, all little boys then we will just have to adopt a little girl so I can get my girly fix fulfilled.

{six}
Photographing boudoir has been a dream come true. It's something that, given the opportunity, I would do every. single. day. There is something magical about capturing a woman's beauty normally but it's so amplified when she REALIZES just how beautiful she really is. Hearing my clients gasp when I show them a preview image on my camera screen makes me giddy with excitement.

{seven}
I love being me. I know that sounds a) snobby and b) cliche but it's true. My parents raised me to always be confident and respectful and to realize that the world is mine for the taking. Within that lesson my parents provided the platform for me to thrive and grow and truly accept and love myself. It's something I hope Mr. TL and I can instill in our children as well.

Here comes the tough part - awarding only 5 blogs as "stylish". Obviously I read all the blogs that I do because I love something about each of them but if I had to pick the most stylish (in my opinion, of course!)...
--> Kori @ Blonde Episodes
--> Jennie @ A Girl in Pearls & A Boy with Toys
--> Kindra @ Keeping Up With Kindra
--> Samantha @ Life is Better Blonde
--> Michelle @ The Vintage Apple

If you're smart, you'll hop on over to their blogs and you'll soon understand why I find them to be tres chic! ;)

Fun Fridays

Well hello Friday... lovely to see you again!

This weekend is a busy, but not so busy weekend (does that make any sense?!).

Tonight Mr. TL and I will grabe a bite to eat somewhere after work and then it's an early night for us because we're shooting a wedding tomorrow and have to be at the bride's hotel by 8 am. Yes you read that right - 8 am. The cool thing (for us!) about shooting an afternoon wedding - we will be home by 6:30 pm. Not so shabby!

Because our entire Saturday is occupied with the wedding, Sunday we plan to do a whole lot of nothingness with a side of lunch somewhere and possibly a drive through of some neighborhoods that we're hoping to buy a house in. Be jealous ;)

Deal Alert - Flirty Aprons

My friend Erica send me this deal and it's too GOOD and too CUTE not to share!!

Flirty Aprons is a sweet little company that specializes in, you guessed it, flirty aprons! It's you're like me and like to be in the kitchen, you know that an apron is not only functional but also a great way to accessorize (yes I think of accessorizing in the kitchen - don't judge me).

Their aprons are typically in the $25 range but thanks to Hip 2 Save, you can order any Marilyn style apron for 60% off by using coupon code MARILYN60.

Here is the fun little number I just ordered for under $16 including shipping! Adorable, right??

Top 5 Thursday

Ogling beautiful men is a tough job but throughout my 20 something years on this planet, I've managed to do so whenever I can ;) Needless to say that when I saw Meghan's link up, I couldn't resist the opportunity to scour the internet for pictures of my Top 5 Celebrity Crushes.

Mr. TL and I each have a top 5 list of people that we think are just insanely gorgeous and would allow each other a free pass with. All this happening because the chance of Scarlett Johansson showing up in little old Rhode Island and seeking out my dashing husband for a little fling is so ridiculously unlikely (sorry babe ;)).

You'll see a trend with my Top 5 ... not only is every image I chose black & white (there's something about black and white images that just screams sexy to me!), all of the men are tall dark and handsome. I like to remind Mr. TL that he ALSO has all three of those qualities so he should consider himself lucky ;) Without further ado...

5) Matthew Morrison

4) Ben Affleck

3) Jon Hamm

2) Gerard Butler

1) Patrick Dempsey

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving... that it is halfway through the week! The weekend is in sight! We're shooting a wedding on Saturday so we (along with the happy couple!) would appreciate any sunny thoughts you can throw our way!

I'm loving... my iPhone (as if you couldn't already tell!)

I'm loving... shopping for baby clothes! Everyone around me keeps having children at a rapid rate which means that I get to spend more time perusing the adorableness that is baby clothes! Shopping for my friends little boys is so fun but for the little girls... that's where my girly loving heart gets sucked in. Mr. TL has been warned that he had better hope that we have all boys just for the clothing alone :)

I'm loving... the friendships I've created as an adult. It's tough to move on from a friendship break up but I did just that about four years ago. I am stronger today and have better friends than I could have ever imagined because of it.

What are YOU loving this Wednesday? Head over to Jamie's blog and link up!

Yet another fabulous color by Essie!

On Monday I received my order from Ulta (yay for 20% off!) and immediately had to try one of my new nail polishes - Essie's Demure Vixen. I was excited to see that the polish has an iridescent quality to it but slightly disappointed to see how sheer it was. I was able to alleviate the sheerness by applying three coats and then the top coat (Good To Go by Essie - super fast drying) which helped to set the three coats.

Demure Vixen is a great color for spring and reminds me of the prettiest light purple Easter egg you've ever seen.

Next up is the other new bottle of polish, Splash of Grenadine... Confession time: I get way TOO excited to try new nail polishes. I guess there are worst addictions in life ;)
