New 'Do

Prior to my wedding in May 2009, I (along with what seems like every other bride to be!) grew out my hair. Now, to some, this might not seem like a big deal at all. However, just ask my stylist Sue and she'll fall into to the fetal position and whimper because she's the one who has to deal with blow drying, highlighting, and maintaining my thick, coarse, unruly mane. That being said, she loves me so much that I even got my own sign outside her salon the week of my wedding (and check out the lonnnnng hair!).

Then, because my stylist Sue loves me so much, she opened up her salon on the Monday after my wedding to chop off all the hair. I think she may have been more excited than I was! Sadly, I was just under 2 inches too short for Locks of Love but nevertheless, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! We took it to right around shoulder length and that's where I've been hanging out ever since.

That is until today. I've been getting sick of the blah color I had going on (read: mousy brown from the lack of sun in the winter months!) accompanied by the side swept, bang shoulder length bob I 'd been rocking. I asked for a slight change and that's what I got... a bit more highlights, no more bangs (they need to grow out a smidgen more before they'll be perfect and less bang like) and a slightly inverted bob with some layering to lighten things up.

Please forgive the crummy Blackberry picture - It's only right that as a pro photographer I provide you with a decent picture so I promise that when Mr. TL comes home, I'll have him snap a REAL one ;)

So... what do ya think?! I'm digging it! I can still pull half up in those hot summer months and no longer have to worry about sweaty forehead bangs (you know the look!).

  1. I think it looks great! So chic :)

PS I'm a crazy stalker but do you wear your wedding bands on your right hand?

  2. Looks nice! I've been toying with growing out my bangs, but I just don't know if I can commit!! But oh, do I know the sweaty forehead bangs look..

Jen - sometimes when I take a picture using PhotoBooth it's reversed and I don't know why! Maybe the BB camera does the same thing?

  3. Jen... It must be what Sara mentioned because I wear them on my left (so odd!). And confession: I had to look down at my hand to confirm that I do indeed wear them on my left! Haha!

  4. I love the color and style! I've almost always had long hair and after my wedding I thought I might cut it, but I chickened out :) I just have always missed my long hair the few times I chopped it off...sad thing is, most people told me they liked it better short!
